Beneath wind and rain, the weight of green development stands out

Jul 23, 2026

This summer appears to have a more unpredictable temper than usual.

Typhoon Bavi's every shift held us in suspense; the floodwaters in Guangxi brought a visceral sense of grief, palpable even from afar. Persistent heavy rainfall, typhoons, and flooding risks are continually testing our urban operations, industrial production, and social governance capabilities.

The formation of an individual typhoon or heavy rainfall event is influenced by a multitude of factors and cannot be attributed simplistically to climate change. Yet the long-term trend is one that cannot be ignored. According to Blue Book on Climate Change in China 2025‌, from 1961 to 2024, extreme high-temperature and extreme heavy-precipitation events in China have shown an overall increasing trend.

Climate change manifests itself in the weather, but what it ultimately reflects is a transformation in energy systems and development models. For a long time, the dependence of energy production, industrial manufacturing, and transportation on fossil fuels has been a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Promoting the transition of the energy mix toward a cleaner, lower-carbon direction has thus become a common development challenge facing the global community.

For the manufacturing industry , responses to this challenge must go beyond mere proposals and be translated into concrete actions covering energy mix optimization, material selection, production efficiency improvement and supply chain management.

1. Energy Mix: Bringing More Clean Electricity into Manufacturing
According to data released by the National Energy Administration (NEA), by the end of April 2026, China’s installed capacity of renewable energy power generation had exceeded 2.4 billion kW, accounting for 60.5% of the country’s total installed power capacity. The cumulative grid-connected installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power reached 1.911 billion kW.

The continuous expansion of renewable energy installed capacity has laid a solid foundation for the industrial sector to cut carbon emissions during the energy consumption phase. Nevertheless, the value of green energy lies not merely in the number of power stations built, but more importantly in whether clean electricity can be effectively absorbed and truly delivered to industrial production, transportation and daily life scenarios.

2. Production Process: Reducing Resource Consumption Through Efficiency
The green transformation of the manufacturing industry must ultimately be measured by improvements in energy and resource utilization efficiency.

Through equipment upgrading, process optimization, digital energy management, green logistics, and material recycling, manufacturers can reduce energy consumption per unit of output, lower resource inputs, and minimize environmental impact. Green manufacturing is not merely about affixing an eco-label to a product—it is about delivering greater product value with fewer resource inputs.

3. Carbon Footprint: Ensuring Green Claims Are Measurable and Auditable
The Progress Report on the Development of the Product Carbon Footprint Management System (2026) released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) points out that China’s product carbon footprint management is accelerating its development into a complete framework covering accounting standards, carbon label certification and information disclosure systems.

In the future, a product will no longer be defined solely by its quality, performance, price, and delivery schedule. It will also be expected to answer a new set of questions: Where did the raw materials come from? What energy sources were used in its production? And how much carbon was emitted throughout its manufacturing and transportation?

Carbon footprinting is shifting green manufacturing from a conceptual commitment to a measurable, comparable, and traceable practice. In doing so, it will compel companies to fundamentally re-examine their energy usage, material sourcing, production processes, and supply chain management.

4. About Xinbo: Bringing Green to More Manufacturing Sites
Grounded in this understanding, Xinbo Aluminum Co., Ltd. has been steadily advancing green manufacturing and material circularity. On one hand, we serve green industries such as photovoltaics and new energy vehicles; on the other hand, we recycle, regenerate, and reuse scrap aluminum, reintroducing materials into the manufacturing system. This dual-pronged approach creates a synergistic green industrial loop that spans from renewable energy applications to recycled material utilization.

Meanwhile, Xinbo keeps refining its measurable and traceable green manufacturing system centering on clean energy adoption, energy consumption intensity control and product carbon footprint management, gradually translating the strategic direction of green development into tangible manufacturing standards.

5. The Storm Will Pass, But Action Must Not.
A single enterprise’s efforts cannot stop a torrential rain, nor can global environmental challenges be resolved by any single country or industry alone. Nevertheless, every energy choice, every ton of recycled material and every emission reduction practice collectively shape the trajectory of future development.

The philosophy that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” does not represent a trade-off between development and environmental protection, but rather a profound transformation of the development model. Climate and ecological environment know no national boundaries, and the green transition is never a one-man show for any individual country, industry or enterprise.

Cleaner energy use, fuller material recycling, truer emission accounting—this is how manufacturing answers the call of global environmental stewardship and builds a shared future for all.
